Kg was incredible from the very start! I got his info from my friend Emma who raves about him and calls him her best friend. When I reached out, he was so excited for my family trip and couldn’t wait to meet us. I immediately felt bonded with him and stoked for him to show us around Jo’burg. We had an amazing 5 day stay at a safari lodge and Kg’s warm welcome in Johannesburg topped off the trip. We started our tour of joburg at the apartheid museum which was more meaningful than we could’ve ever imagined. We were free to explore the museum and met up with Kg again after we finished. He shared with us his personal stories and memories from living in the apartheid state and the brought a deeper understanding to us. After the apartheid museum, Kg brought us to Nando’s for lunch and we are in the car on the way to Soweto. He shared the history of the different townships and we got to meet some of his friends while driving around. If you’re looking for a unique look around Johannesburg from a local, I promise you Kg is the only way to go. His knowledge of Johannesburg and the history of South Africa makes this an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed our day with him so much. His ease and joyful personality made us feel comfortable and allowed for a relaxing time. My sister and her friend ended up going with Kg the day after too. He took them to the Jewish museum and went out shopping at their version of Costco. They had such a blast together and came back with lots of goodies. Overall an amazing trip and hanging out with Kg is something we’ll never forget!
